Newsletter from Trustee Dr. Reagan Flowers, District IV
Sep 22, 2021
Dear Neighbors,
Houston Community College (HCC) is back and ready to provide the best in academic or workforce training as students start or continue their educational journey.
Notably – as HCC scales up its in-person learning – there are some new opportunities for financial aid and technological assistance available to help students achieve their goals:
Federal financial aid options offered
HCC has received $59 million in federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds for use in helping students who have been adversely affected by the pandemic and current economic crisis. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and will be distributed until all funding has been allocated. In addition to the many other financial aid options in place. Explore these options today by visiting hccs.edu/emergency-help
Additional technology support is available
HCC is also supporting students in their educational journey with several options for obtaining computers and internet access.
Discounts are available on the purchase of computers from leading manufacturers. The college also offers free use of software from leading companies such as Microsoft and Adobe. Wi-Fi is available at all HCC campuses and outdoor venues, including college parking lots. Trained professionals are just a phone call away to provide technical support for students. hccs.edu/techhelp
While HCC is quickly scaling up traditional on-campus, in-person learning, plenty of online classes, and lab options remain. There are more ways to learn now than ever before – and enrolling is easy by visiting: hccs.edu/fall2021
Need assistance? Call 713.718.2000 or email us at student.info@hccs.edu to get started.
See you soon at Houston Community College!
Sincerely,
Reagan Flowers, Ph.D.
